Your Shot A performer with Switzerland’s Swiss Dream Circus nimbly twirls hula hoops around her arms and legs. “In Malaysia, it’s really hard to see a circus show … without animals involved,”
writes Your Shot member Aizuddin Saad. “When I heard that a group of circus performers was doing a show in Kuala Lumpur, I took a chance to document circus life.”
The acrobatic performers in the Swiss Dream Circus will leave you holding your breath in every act.
He then decided to compile the acts with the help of an old friend Marco Baumgartner, the founder of Swiss Dream Circus. Baumgartner grew up around a Swiss circus family, Dawne and Bruno
Spechinger and went on tour with the circus at the age of 12 and made his own appearance as a juggler, just a year later. Although, the circus does not have animal shows, the other acts, said
Baumgartner would keep people glued to their seats with bated breaths. “We were looking for something different. The performers need to connect with audience, we do not want the skills alone,” he
added.
Marco Baumgartner was only 12 years old when he was first invited to tag along with a circus troupe, led by family friends Dawn & Bruno Spechinger; making his debut as a juggler only a year later. The Swiss native spent most of his youth travelling with various circuses, meeting circus artistes from all across Europe.
